Saliva: 50 Best Songs From Their Career (So Far)

1. "Superstar" - Every Six Seconds

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txVNA_evVs0 You saw this one coming, right? If you're a Saliva fan, you'd be a sucker not to see it coming. "Superstar", the #1 song on this list and Saliva's all time #1 single in their career, this special achievement granted Saliva the power they still hold to this day. I've praised Every Six Seconds enough to the point of redundancy, but I feel it necessary to go into that familiar territory one last time in order to explain "Superstar". As stated before, Every Six Seconds is Saliva's premiere rockstar album. Of all the songs on the album, "Superstar" is the most well-known, even beating "Click Click Boom" in my opinion. Being the first song heard on the album, "Superstar" opens things up in pure alternative/hard rock fashion. Performing the song like true rockstars with a purpose, Saliva plays their hearts out and puts all their dedication into their first true single that eventually put the band on the rock 'n' roll map. "Superstar" works the same way "Your Disease" does: foretelling the future for Saliva as group of rockstars who rock with the best of them. But "Superstar" holds that foretelling in a more respective nature; it's literally and figuratively the evolution of the band from their debut release back in 1997. Four years later, they open up on their sophomore album declaring their passion for what they do as rock 'n' roll superstars. Being granted that lifestyle, where fame, money, drugs, alcohol, and all the other rockstar luxuries, the song is a gateway for how they evolved over those four years. All the fame and luxuries that make them superstars in their fields, and going on to record and release 5 more albums (under Josey Scott) and an additional album with Bobby Amaru and a more defined hard rock sound reveals to the fans that they've attained their roles as superstars in the rock genre, and their single off of Every Six Seconds, "Superstars", is the fore-bearer of all their history, their passion, and loyalties to music and their loyal fans. That's why "Superstar" is such an epic and amazing song: it was energetic back then with its unique telling of a rockstar living, and easily predicted Saliva's future, although sadly underrated in today's world where pop music has taken over. "Superstar" holds Saliva's vigor in tow, and is a perfect rock song. It's the consequent highlight in Saliva's career, and their absolute finest love letter to the fans and the rock genre. So there it is, the top 50 songs of Saliva's career. Do you guys agree with this listing? Do you have different interpretations of the mentioned songs above? Are there other songs that you think should be added? If so, why? I always love talking about music to others, and I'm eager to hear what you guys have to say. Feel free to comment below!
