6. He Gave Alice Cooper Hard Rock Power Once Again
Alice Cooper's career had been a bit of a rollercoaster ever since his arrival on the scene. From being the world's most reviled rock star to being onstage with the Muppets, Cooper had certainly run the gamut when it came to entertaining an audience.
While the early 80's period saw mediocre sales for Cooper, he started to reestablish himself with the hard rock faithful, working with producer Michael Wagener to create a heavier sound for his madman alter ego. Though his first albums in this period did fairly well, it wasn't until the ironically named Trash album that Child was brought into the fold.
With Cooper unsure which sonic path to go down, Child found that the shock rocker's original sketches worked wonders in the glam metal context of the day. Child set to work on bringing the macabre shock rocker into the modern rock world, cowriting almost every track on the record with Alice.
This resulted in the massive comeback single "Poison," which brought Alice back into the mainstream and led to him appearing in even more pop culture touchstones like Wayne's World. By this point, Child had really flexed his muscles in the world of hard rock. Now it was time to experiment even further.
