Where Are They Now? - The Headliners Of Download 2003
3. Sunday Scuzz Stage Headliner: NOFX
The iconic punk lads headlined the 2nd stage on the Sunday, which in itself acted as a mini-festival within Download called "Deconstruction". Specialising in skate punk and punk rock, NOFX topped a bill that included Strung Out, T.S.O.L, The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster and of course, BoySetsFire. Oh and Metallica, no biggy.
Appearing at the festival on the coattails of their ninth studio album - and their first album released on lead singer Fat Mike's own label Fat Wreck Chords - 'The War on Errorism', NOFX have been one of the more active acts from the elder statesmen of the 90s punk boom, releasing five studio albums since their Download appearance, the most recent coming in February 2021 with album #14: 'The Single Album'.
NOFX has returned to play Download multiple times, including it's international variations in Spain, France and Australia. For Blighty, they would return in 2012, appearing on Friday's main stage that was headlined by The Prodigy, and in 2016 where they once again headlined the 2nd stage ahead of Skindred, on a bill that included Bury Tomorrow, TesseracT, and The Men That Will Not Be Blamed for Nothing.
