A Wilhelm Scream - PARTYCRASHER Album Review: All Eleven Tracks Analysed
9. Walkin' With Michael Douglas A Wilhelm Scream deliver a disappointingly plodding, overly simplistic song with "Walkin' With Michael Douglas." As opposed to the last song, whose relative simplicity allowed other strong elements such as intelligent songwriting to show through, "Walkin' With Michael Douglas," is weighed down by its simplicity, which veers into blandness for much of the song's three minute and twenty four second run time. The song is saved from being dismissed as filler by small positive aspects such as the short, energetic guitar solo and the unexpected tempo increases during the second half of each verse section. Despite these positive elements, track nine ranks among the weakest on the album. 10. Wild Turkey The band once again utilizes harmonized vocals on track ten, "Wild Turkey," injecting the song with a sense of desperation. Singer Nico Pereira delivers his most emotionally powerful performance on the album, bellowing his lyrics with maximum effort and pushing his voice to limits beyond what is heard on the rest of PARTYCRASHER. The song also succeeds because of the band striking a favorable balance between technical complexity and collective songwriting. This allows all of the elements of the song to come together to create a stronger whole than any individual part.
