10 American Restaurant Chains That Need To Come To The UK
7. Texas Roadhouse
You can get a steak at a lot of restaurants. Texas Roadhouse does steaks. But what makes them different to anything you can already get in the UK? Well, they're not an Aberdeen Steak House-esque tourist trap for starters. Has a UK resident ever deliberately eaten in one of those? The other chain competitors are places such as Beefeater or Harvester. But depending on the restaurant, these can be a rather tacky family joint where it's all becoming more and more self-service. Texas Roadhouse hand cuts the steaks to order, and they are crazily delicious. They produce a range of steaks that would be at home in a high end restaurant, or a localised chain like Hawksmoor in London. TR would prove to be a suitable competitor to those types of restaurants, but hopefully would be more national in scope. The main replacement that TR could make is to drive Beefeater and Harvester into producing greater quality products. Naturally, that is better for British consumers across the country as improvements to both those restaurants will be rolled out nationally allowing us all to get a decent steak at a reasonable price.
