Tennessee Williams wrote some of the finest American plays of the 20th Century. His most famous plays were A Street Car Named Desire, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, and Sweet Bird of Youth. In 1979 he was inducted into the American Theatre Hall of Fame.

Williams died four years later in his suite at the Hotel Elysée when he accidently swallowed a bottle cap.

In his will Tennessee requested that he be put in a sack and chucked off the side of a boat into the sea. His family ignored the request and buried him at Calvary Cemetery. Spoil sports.
