Created by C.S Lewis, Narnia has a legacy of being one of literature's most extraordinary fantasy lands. The Chronicles of Narnia series is a beautiful exploration of fantasy and acted as many children's first experiences with the genre altogether. It's got darkness and consequences but overall this wonderfully wholesome feeling of good overcoming evil.

The series, as many know, acts as an allegorical retelling of the Bible, and this feeds a lot of the narrative and characters within it. This sense of grandiosity and scale are prevalent throughout.

The well-known narrative of Edmund, Lucy, Peter and Susan coming into Narnia and fulfilling the prophecy to become kings and queens makes the land feel so close yet so far. Like them, we get to delve into it firsthand from a land that we already know.

Additionally, if you choose to read the books in chronological order starting with the prequel The Magician's Nephew and moving on to the saga of the Pevensie children, you witness as the land of Narnia is created and evolves throughout the books.

It's a classic fantasy world, with powers, swords and talking animals that make it feel magical. Aslan also will always stand as one of the greatest and most influential creations in fantasy literature.
