HD 189773 is a binary star system in the constellation Vulpecula, approximately 64.5 light years away. Within this system you can find the planet HD 189773b, a gas giant around 13% larger than Jupiter.

Although there is evidence of water on this planet, it is far from habitable.

For those of us who ever get lucky enough to visit this planet, an incredibly violent death is all that would await you. This is not just because of the immense gravity.

Due to the close orbit to its star, temperatures can exceed over 1000 Celsius - 1,830 Fahrenheit. These temperatures, along with other natural phenomena, can cause wind speeds of over 5,400 miles per hour.

What makes this even more startling is that the planet is constantly raining shards of glass, as a result of a high amount of silicates in the atmosphere. This means that should anyone or anything ever visit, they would be obliterated by superheated glass shards travelling more than seven times the speed of sound.

On the upside, these silicates also give the planet a nice deep blue colour.
