5. A Maths Teacher Takes Kids To Wal-Mart In Her Trunk

Heather Cagle, a maths teacher from Oklahoma, wanted to do something nice for her class last October. So she decided to take them out for a spontaneous ice cream trip to a local Wal-Mart. Sweet. Unfortunately, "taking kids away from school without telling anyone" is otherwise known as "kidnap", and Cagle found herself hauled in front of the school board for not getting the parents' permission for her trip. If that were the whole story, Cagle would have our sympathy. We all wished our teachers would take us for ice cream instead of doing that whole teaching thing. Our wishes, though, didn't involve being shoved in a car trunk for the drive. You see, Cagle forgot the golden rule: don't put children in the trunk of your car, you moron. The bizarre thing is the board only voted 4-1 for her dismissal, and 50 parents turned up to support her, which means there are at least 51 people in Oklahoma who think kids should be treated like loud, hyperactive golf bags.
