2. Statue Of Michael Jackson
Artist: Various
Location: Manchester, England The Michael Jackson Statue was originally commissioned and unveiled by Fulham FC's then-chairman Mohammed Al-Fayed in 2011, outside the club's grounds. Al-Fayed was a friend of Michael Jackson, erecting the statue as a tribute to the late entertainer. However, the 7.5 foot tall sculpture was widely ridiculed, due to its questionable posture and kitsch design. One Fulham fan said, "we're a laughing stock. It has nothing to do with football." After Al-Fayed's departure from Fulham, it was decided that the statue be removed. After Fulham's relegation from the Premier League earlier this year, Al-Fayed claimed the statue's removal had brought bad luck to the club. The statue now resides at Manchester's National Football Museum.
