Deborah Jeane Palfrey was a lawyer and the owner of a prominent D.C. area escort business. In 2006, in order to access her property without a warrant, government agents posed as a couple interested in buying her home. The government then froze her bank account and seized papers linking her to prostitution and racketeering charges.

Palfrey claimed to have the phone numbers of 15,000 clients, some of them public figures, which she planned to release. The ensuing scandal led to the resignation of several senators and government officials.

In April of 2008, Palfrey was found guilty of money laundering and racketeering. According to her manager, she was concerned that the government would have her killed. And Palfrey even stated on the Alex Jones Show that she had “no intention of committing suicide” and planned to expose the government in ways they would not want.

On May 1, 2008, her body was found hanging in a storage shed outside of her mother's mobile home. Autopsy and police investigation determined her death was a suicide.
