10 Infamously Chilling Deaths And Disappearences
6. The Disappearance Of Rebecca Coriam
Disney employee, Rebecca Coriam was twenty-four years old when she went missing from the cruise ship “Disney Wonder” off the coast of Mexico on March 22, 2009.
Around 5:45 in the morning, security cameras in a crew lounge recorded footage of Rebecca having a phone conversation that seemed to be causing her some emotional distress. In the footage, a male crewmember approaches Rebecca as she hangs up and asks if she is all right. Her mouth can be seen saying, “Ya, I’m fine.”
This was the last known sighting of her and the crew reported her missing after she missed several shifts. Initially, investigators suspected suicide, however, crew and family members doubted that theory and pointed to the fact that Rebecca had recently made vacation plans. Additionally, Rebecca’s credit card was used after her disappearance.
What makes this case even more interesting is the resulting conflict between Coriam’s family and Disney. They are actually suing Disney for holding back information and have accused them of a cover-up. They also allege that Disney had claimed that, in the footage, Rebecca Coriam was drunk and had been banging her head into the wall. Disney allegedly changed their story when the footage was released to the FBI.
