Kid's shows provide comfort to countless children around the world. They act as a safe haven from the scary world outside. That is of course only if the scary world doesn't somehow find its way inside. Like 'Candle Cove' for instance.

Much like 'Kisaragi Station' this chilling tale of childhood trauma is structured like a forum post. Users recount their memories of a strange kid's show from the early seventies called Candle Cove (something that technically became real when the Creepypasta got its own season of 'Channel Zero') and soon begin to unearth memories better left forgotten.

'Candle Cove' brilliantly preys on childhood memories just about everyone has. Take a second to think about all the episodes of shows you saw as a child that were more like waking nightmares than children's entertainment. For instance, the unnecessarily cringe inducing 'Freaky Fred' episode of 'Courage the Cowardly Dog' or the 'Scream' themed 'Boy Meets World' episode 'And Then There Was Shawn'. How did they get past the censors? Who in their right mind would make that for kids? Why were they so darn good?

The other thing that makes this so strong is that the dialogue between users feels genuine. It makes the story feel grounded as if you could actually come across a real thread like this somewhere online. In fact, you could considering all the terrifying episodes of kids shows out there.
