In recent years, the so-called "fourth wave" of feminism has taken hold, defined and aided by the influence of technology on the way in which women campaign for equal rights. Prominent feminist bloggers and websites such as Jezebel have helped to promote the cause of feminism to a generation of tech-savvy women. However, increased exposure for the feminist movement has also led to more animosity from some men. It is a common argument that feminists, particularly those who are a part of protest groups like Femen (pictured), are fuelled by a hatred for men. This debate is given added potency by the recent actions of Isla Vista killer Elliot Rodger who claimed he was motivated by his hatred for women who rejected him. Some on online communities have even blamed feminism for the attack. This is a discussion that really fires up both genders and comes with intense personal feelings on both sides. At its root is a desire for equality, but there's something ugly about the arguments.
