2. William Henry Bury & The Message On The Wall

Yet another recent suspect, the case for William Bury being the Ripper begins with the death of his wife Ellen. When police came to see the body they found her with horrific mutilations that were reminiscent of those of the Ripper victims. Furthermore, on chalk on the wall was the words "Jack the Ripper is in the cellar". Bury certainly was in London at the time of the crimes and the time they ceased does correspond with him moving away from the city. The main problem with him being the killer has to do with the fact that he lived in Bow, an area that was quite a commute to the Whitechapel crime scenes and would have been nigh impossible to make during the night. He therefore would have needed another base of operations, but a logical one has so far yet to be unearthed. Still, like David Cohen, he remains amongst the favoured suspects.
