Ornithophobia, or the fear of birds, would be a real problem when it comes to this guy. The Thunderbird has a wingspan of up to 14 feet, making each of its wings the size of your average human man. Gulp.

Another creature supposedly born from the mythology of Native America, the original Thunderbird is a dangerous and powerful creature that brings lightning, thunder, and rain with the flap of its wings. It’s massive in size, and whilst intimidating to see - its widely regarded as a benevolent nature spirit.

The Thunderbird sighted in recent years, however, is a much different beast. Claimed to be featherless and instead sporting a leathery body with an alligator’s head, it attacked a group of young boys in 1977 and tried to take one off to its nest. With sightings cropping up as recently as 2007, the pterodactyl-like creature will make you run for your storm shelter in no time.

Plenty of footage exists on YouTube of simple birds of prey flying around - but the real thing is much bigger, scarier, and hungrier than your average condor.
