2. She's Never Read A Comic Book (And Has Been Told Not To Start Now)

You'd think that when an actor or actress lands a major role with source material that they would pick it up and start to read. Game Of Thrones stars have done so with George R.R. Martin's A Song Of Ice And Fire, while numerous Harry Potter youngsters were essentially raised on J.K.Rowling's books. Kate Mara claims that she's never read a comic book in her life. It's not the greatest cinematic crime, but now she's been cast, Director Josh Trank has told her not to as the film plot will take a new direction. She told Esquire: "I've never been a fan of comics, I've never actually read one. I was going to for this movie but the director said it wasn't necessary. Well, actually he told us that we shouldn't do it because the plot won't be based on any history of anything already published. So I chose to follow his instructions. I am a fan of comic book movies though, so it's very exciting to be part of something like this."
