1. He Got Kicked Out Of The GQ Awards Right After Accepting An Award
Always the activist: in 2013, Russell clearly could not resist ripping into GQ Men Of The Year awards backers Hugo Boss for kitting out the Nazis. He placed a finger under his nose, in a Basil Fawlty-style impersonation of Adolf Hitler, and started goose-stepping. On stage, he said: If anyone knows a bit about history and fashion, you know it was Hugo Boss who made uniforms for the Nazis. But they looked f**** amazing. Brand was eventually ejected from the event after GQ editor Dylan Jones confronted Brand with his view that the speech was "very offensive". Brand replied by saying that the Nazis' treatment of the Jewish people was also "very offensive".
