10 Thoughts British Men Have When Getting A Haircut
8. Making Awkward Eye Contact Through The Mirror
There seems to be an unspoken rule in a hairdressers that men don't seem to know exist until it is too late. The rule is simply that which states 'one should not make eye contact, lest ye want to feel awkward.'
There's something incredibly strange that happens if you make eye contact with your hairdresser, perhaps down to the fact that you're doing it through a mirror. But it feels as though you shouldn't have done it, the reason being anyone's guess.
It's also a case of trying not to make your hairdresser feel as though you are staring at them the entire time you get your haircut, because that would be weird.
A similar feeling can happen when you can't help but keep catching another man's eye who is sat behind you, but due to the magic of mirrors on either side of the wall you can see his face. Throughout the entirety of your haircut, you catch yourself every now and then glancing briefly at each other, and the situation gets more and more awkward with every glance.
A few goes of this and you actually have to make a conscious effort to stare at your own face.
