You're at the midway point, as indicated by the clippers being put back on charge. You expect scissors to start chopping away at your mop any minute. But before any more hair comes off, it must be wet for the scissors to do the work.

The hairdresser sprays your hair all over. That's fine; whatever it takes to get the job done. But moments later, you experience the most irritating sensation. Like an itch you can't scratch.

Trickles of water slowly run down your face. One may go down your nose as you try your best to refrain from wiping, because, rule number one of being in a hairdresser's chair is never letting them know, or be aware, of any discomfort you are experiencing.

Another trickle may accumulate in your eyebrow, giving you mere seconds to either be brave and somehow unbury your hand from the gown, or let it go in your eye, causing temporary blindness. (That last part may be an exaggeration).

For some reason wiping away water is like accepting defeat. That is of course if you can flap away the gown in time to save yourself...
