10 Ways Universal Orlando Proved To Be The Home Of Harry Potter

6. When The Wizarding World Said Goodbye To A Legend

In 2016, fans united to say goodbye to Harry Potter legend, Alan Rickman.

As a tribute to the man who played Severus Snape, fans gathered to raise their wands to the sky as a mark of respect. Fans also repeated the tribute at that year's A Celebration of Harry Potter fan event, which took place only weeks after his passing.

Team members who worked at the Wizarding World also decided to place a beautiful memorial to Rickman within Universal Orlando's Forbidden Journey ride.

A lily was placed outside Severus Snape's potion's door within the ride's queue. Given that Snape's love for Lily Potter, the floral tribute is even more poignant.
