10 Weirdest Stephen King Stories You Need To Read

Revival Stephen King Concept
Stephen King

Written under the pseudonym of Richard Bachman, Blaze is a crime novel written in King's early years, although it remained unpublished until 2007.

It follows Clayton Blaisdell Jr, a clumsy, oversized criminal with learning difficulties as he kidnaps the infant son of a wealthy family.

Aided by the ghost of his former mentor and partner in crime, Blaze attempts to keep the child alive despite having no knowledge of caring for an infant and very little capacity to learn. His ineptitude does not prove to be his undoing, however, as he repeatedly gets lucky in evading the authorities, lending an excitement and tension to the narrative that makes it a worthy read.

King's choice of protagonist, as well as the characterisation of Blaisdell, makes for an unorthodox story, but it is one that is decidedly enjoyable for any fans of King's particular brand of interesting and irregular fiction.
