We all love a good rummage around a vintage shop, finding a bargain pair of jeans that look great on you and at a very cheap price. But one thing that you wish you could leave in the shop is the smell.

When in a vintage shop the smell of the clothes is captivating, it makes you want to shop for longer and buy more, but bring that smell home and it's as if there's something gone damp in your wardrobe.

Instead of washing the clothes straight away and risking losing their shape, try spritzing onto the clothes, just the cheap bottom shelf stuff too, the expensive stuff is no better at removing odors so keep that for drinking. Simply put some vodka into a spritzing bottle, you can add water but this dilutes the alcohol and can stop the odor eliminator from being as strong.

Hang your garment up and spray away, try not to wet the fabric, try to just spray it. You'll find as you spray the clothes the alcohol gathers up the odour that's on your clothes and when the alcohol evaporates into the air the smell goes with it.

Happy spritzing. Try not to drink the vodka.
