12 Times Adolf Hitler Has Been Totally Owned In Fiction

6. Looney Tunes

Looney Tunes Hitler Back in the heyday of animated shorts such as Looney Tunes, you couldn't throw an anvil without hitting a cartoon that involved World War II in some way. That didn't just include second-stringers or original content, as you'd also see the likes of Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck doing their part to help bolster spirits at home and abroad with their usual style of slapstick humor. In just one example, seen above, Daffy Duck takes the fight straight to a surprisingly realistically drawn Hitler's doorstep, where he proceeds to clock the Nazi leader over the head with a surprisingly small mallet. Also surprising is how Hitler doesn't squash or stretch in a toon-like manner; rather, he just emits a loud gong sound as he vibrates before feeling the lump on his head and letting out a rather indignant, almost infantile pained yell. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_zc-ThSKXfc Granted, they could have gone with a more toon-styled squash-and-stretch slapstick routine here, thus making the caricature little more than a Nazi Elmer Fudd, but the more realistic approach just somehow manages to resonate more as Adolf cries out at the end. As these types of cartoons go, it's almost like treading the line bordering the uncanny valley, making it all the more potent.
