1. Tupac Shakur (September 13, 1996) - Rapper Is Murdered In A Drive-By Shooting And Dies On Friday 13th
Lesane Parish Crooks - better known as "Tupac Shakur" or "2Pac" - was an American rapper who sold more than 75million records worldwide, with hits including Ghetto Gospel and Hit Em Up. The hip-hop artist had attended Mike Tyson's bout with Bruce Seldon at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on September 7, 1996, when he left the fight and got into his friend Suge Knight's BMW 750iL sedan. After they stopped at a crossroads, a white Cadillac pulled up alongside and an unknown number of gunmen shot Tupac through the window several times. Although Tupac survived for almost a week in hospital, he eventually succumbed to internal bleeding and severe haemorrhaging on Friday September 13, 1996. No-one has ever been prosecuted for killing Tupac at the age of just 25, although numerous theories exist as to the motive behind it. The most credible is that the Southside Crips gang shot and killed him after he had attacked one of their members at some point earlier in the night, although this has never been proven either. Friday 13th has claimed many victims, with Tupac's death proving a huge loss to the hip-hop world.
