In the same cabinet resides the pickled remains of a man's internal organ, apparently pierced by a long, thin object.

These are the earthly remains of a man with some very particular tastes. The poor love died just trying to get his rocks off in the best way he knew how.

Apparently, one of his favourite past times was arranging the broom handle so that the top would stick up through the top of a step ladder, whereupon he would mount the ladder and insert the broom handle up his backside for a jolly old time.

Unfortunately, on one occasion, the step ladder collapsed under his weight, forcing the handle up through his body and piercing him from his rectum to his heart. 

The label reads "Death by misadventure". Those Victorians sure had a way with euphemisms.
