14 Great Reasons To Be A Londoner In 2014

10. New Indoor Theatre At The Globe

When looking for a bit of culture, Shakespeare's Globe is pretty much all you need. The Globe itself is a reconstruction of an Elizabethan Globe playhouse, and offers an authentic Renaissance theatre-going experience with hard benches and an open-air stage with standing room. Located very conveniently on the South Bank, you don't really have an excuse to not go except if it's raining...oh, wait. Welcome, The Globe's new indoor venue. The Sam Wanamaker Playhouse - as it's known - is a candlelit indoor theatre that opened with the fabulously disturbing Duchess of Malfi in January 2014 (starring a certain Gemma Arterton that you may have heard of). Sadly that production is now done and dusted, but come on, anything in a candlelit theatre is probably going to be awesome or at the very least, pretty. The introduction of this theatre adds a little more class and sass to the very traditional Globe, and so there's no doubt that there will be even more unmissable productions this year on.

Fan of Taylor Swift and the Dead Kennedys (a duet I can only dream of). I like dystopias, slasher films, and video games that make me feel things.
