In order to officially earn the role of Hermione Granger, Emma had to endure a total of eight auditions. Eight. But someone very important always had her back as J.K.Rowling was team Watson from the beginning. After seeing her first screentest, the author knew that she would be perfect as Hermione, even if fans have subsequently questioned whether she was too cute to really convincingly play her.
