8. The Birth Of Silly Celebrity Baby Names

In May 2004, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin gave birth to their first born and named her Apple, sparking world-wide bewilderment and inspiring a trend of silly baby names, which has seen fellow celebs naming their children such abominable things as Bear Blue (Alicia Silverstone,) Mowgli Bronx (Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz) and of course North West. And A- List stars have also been in on the act of labelling their babies with the most 'original' names with Kate Hudson and Matt Bellamy giving birth to their son Bingham Hawn along with the Beckham's daughter named Harper Seven, which was incidentally one of the most popular girls names in 2011. In celebrity world the naming of your baby is free publicity and the most ludicrous baby name creates the best ammunition for media attention. Sadly even if they end up with baby-name remorse, it's the poor kid who has to live with it for the rest of their life.
