14 Thoughts You've Had In Preparation For The Great North Run

12. "6am Starts To Train Are Definitely Fun"

We all know that it has to be done but at the same time, bed. Getting out of your warm and cosy bed when it feels like everyone else in the world is still asleep is one of the worst feelings. The best thing to do is to either sleep in your running clothes or put your alarm clock on the other side of the room so you have to actually get out of bed to turn it off. Once you're outside and running, it's one of the most exhilarating feelings in the world. You'll have your music blasting, the sun is rising and you have the roads to yourself. You've set yourself up for a good start to the day and you'll be left feeling more refreshed and more alert as opposed to if you had a lie in. Plus, it takes the pressure off you on a night time because you've already done your work out in the morning, so if you're not feeling up to it after a long day at work, you don't have to force yourself out because you decided to have an extra thirty minutes in bed that morning.
