Imagine if you could clap one hand and create a sonic explosion akin to shooting a small calibre pistol. Now imagine you do that as a shrimp. At only one to two inches long, the pistol shrimp contributes to a lot of noise in the ocean, even interfering with sonar and underwater communications. They have a competition going with the beluga whale for loudest animal in the sea. Their snapping claw is used to take down prey and is capable of producing enough acoustic pressure to shatter glass jars. They produce "bubble bullets" that move as fast as a car. If they loose their snapping claw, their second claw will grow into a new snapping claw. They also get along with each other a lot better than humans do. One colony of pistol shrimp can contain 300 family members, while you and your roommate are still arguing over your laundry on the floor.
