15 Celebrities You Had No Idea Went To Prison

1. Mark Walhberg

Mark Wahlberg Prison You have to delve back into Walhberg's past to find this charge. During his early teenage years he was in a gang, and got into trouble with the police more than twenty times whilst addicted to cocaine. At the age of sixteen on April 8, 1996, he attacked two Vietnamese men, permanently blinding one of them. Before he broke into the assault, he called one of them a "Vietnam f*cking sh*t", and when he was later arrested he protested about the "gooks" and "slant-eyed gooks". Walhberg was charged with attempted murder. This was later reduced to criminal contempt, and after he pled guilty, he was given two years inside but was released after 45 days. At least it goes to show that celebrities don't get released ridiculously early from quite severe charges only after they become famous. But on the plus side, Walhberg credits this time in custody as what turned his life around. The debut album for Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch was released three years after the offence. Of course, he ditched that persona a few years later and became an actor. See him soon in the new Transformers film. Talk about a transformation!

I'm a pop culture addict. Television, cinema, comics, games - you name it, and I've done it. Or at least read the plot synopsis on Wikipedia.
