4. Kurt Vonnegut Unstuck In Time
The Project:
Staggeringly, this documentary charting the life of author Kurt Vonnegut has been in production for over thirty years. But going by the footage director Robert Weide has shot over this timeframe, its clear he has created something quite special. The film will document a variety of moments within the author's life, with scenes showing the author visiting his family home and discussing aspects of his craft set to feature. In a warm twist, Weide became such a close friend of Vonnegut that he too found himself becoming a subject of the documentary, so much so that he handed the directorial reins to friend Don Argott. Utterly fascinating.
Who's Behind It?
Weides CV includes work on Curb Your Enthusiasm, documentaries focusing on subjects such as Lenny Bruce, Woody Allen and W.C. Fields, as well as his only feature film How To Lose Friends And Alienate People. Don Argott has directed a number of documentaries, including impressive NFL feature, Two Days In April, and heavy metal underdog doc, Last Days Here.
The Goal:
Despite Vonnegut passing away in the spring of 2007, Robert and Don still have plenty to film and a hefty post production schedule to see through. The target is £250,000 and you can find out more by visiting the
