13. You Feel You Should Have An Opinion About Robbie Williams
Eclipsing even Neil Morrissey, Lemmy or Slash as a famous son of Stoke is Robbie Williams. The Take That singer who went on to solo success undoubtedly helped to increase the profile of his mother city and brought some much-needed cash back home. On the other hand, his success means that every time Robbie's in the news now, people from Stoke-on-Trent feel obliged to have an opinion on what's being discussed. It's just so draining having to pretend to care. Now that he's been granted the freedom of the city, hopefully the people of Stoke-on-Trent can feel equally free of him too.
