These weird alien spacecraft-shaped homes in San-Zhi, Taiwan, were originally meant to be sold to officers from the U.S. military when they were being built in the late 1970s, but it only took a couple of years before a lack of investment halted the development altogether. Considering that those in charge of the construction were working on something with incredibly niche appeal, it's hardly surprising, is it?
10. Six Flags Jazzland - Louisiana
An extension of the famous theme park chain Six Flags, Jazzland was built as a south-oriented variation on their usual developments, and was quite successful until the park was damaged by Hurricane Katrina. Without the funds to properly restore Jazzland to its former glory the proprietors have left it abandoned, even as some of its rides still stand motionless, waiting for someone to activate them. There have been rumblings of companies redeveloping the park, but no work has commenced so far and until it does Jazzland will sit in the (surprisingly numerous) ranks of creepy, abandoned theme parks.
