20 Incredible Movie Scenes Re-Created With Lego
Why see The Lego Movie when you can create your own?
There's no denying that there's just something magical about Legos. Psychologists will tell you that they help stimulate our creativity and enhance our ability to problem solve, and those who don't count themselves as Lego fans (do those people actually exist?) will chalk their popularity up to nostalgia. But really, when it comes down to it, we love Legos because of one simple fact: they're awesome. With Legos, there are endless possibilities to what you can create, and Lego enthusiasts all over the world have devoted their time (and money, these things aren't cheap!) to making some truly remarkable creations. Photographers hilariously recapture movie scenes, historical events, or famous photos; while animators and video editors spend countless hours painstakingly creating works of art using stop motion animation. Anyone who's stepped on a Lego knows how frustrating it can be sometimes to build these things, so imagine all of the love and care (and hurt toes) that go into these creations. As a Lego photographer myself, I know how much fun it can be to bring these creations to life and share them with the world. To celebrate Lego's big-screen debut, I've collected 20 incredible photos and videos that use everyone's favorite interlocking bricks to recreate iconic movie scenes. I'm talking 4-inch Blues Brothers and plastic Avengers. Buzz Lightyear, Samuel L. Jackson, and everything in between. Photos that will make you quote The Lego Movie's Emmett himself: "Awesome!"
