7. The Apple Logo Has No Biblical Connotations... Steve Jobs Just Liked The Design Many rumours about the origins of Apple's world-famous logo have done the rounds since the company became popular during the 1980s, most of which have been untrue - including the one that claims the design has biblical connotations. The logo that features an apple with a chunk bitten out of it does not refer to Adam and Eve, the supposed "Forbidden Fruit" and the Garden of Eden, but it was just in fact an image that Steve Jobs took a liking to. Having decided on the name of the company, Jobs asked the logo designer Jean Louis Gassée to come up with an appropriate symbol. Two designs were then presented to Jobs - one of an apple with a bite taken out of it, and one without. Jobs decided he liked the version with the bite in more than the full apple, believing it looked quirkier, and that was the reason this Apple logo came into being - not because of some sort of spiritual guidance.
