9. Starbucks Has A "10-Minute Rule"... Meaning It Must Open 10 Minutes Before And Close 10 Minutes After The Specified Operating Times
All Starbucks stores operate at different times - with each outlet having its own opening hours depending on country, location and target audience. Yet they all also operate the so-called "10-Minute Rule". This means that, no matter what time is specified on the front of the shop as the operating hours, the store will unlock its doors 10minutes before the opening time and 10minutes after the closing time. Explaining the rule, the former marketing manager of Starbucks John Moore said in 2002: "This is just to provide good customer service, as there's almost always a customer waiting for a Starbucks to open." Now that really is good customer service.
