6. Unfriend 10 People & Get A Free Whopper
In 2009, Burger King launched the Whopper Sacrifice application on Facebook, which offered a free Whopper to anyone who removed ten names from their friend list. Unlike Facebooks standard unfriending process, the app sent notifications to those being ditched. In the first week of release, the app was used by some 82,000 people to delete over 230,000 friendships before Facebook intervened and forced the company to disable its functionality.
