A step up - or should that be a step down - from dealing with a spiral bound notebook is without a doubt writing into a ring binder - here, the height of the rings and their placement in the binder brings with it new challenges for the lefty to overcome. Perhaps what makes the ring binder more frustrating than the notepad is the fact that the lefty is intermittently able to write relatively normally as they move down the page and find themselves able to slide their arm through the gaps in the rings. Of course, it's only a temporary reprieve from the inevitable discomfort to follow, as the next ring stops their hand from moving freely down the page.
