20 Problems Only Student Teachers Will Understand

8. Trying To Write Original Handouts

Giphy 26 Gif You go online and see handout after handout which you could pilfer, pillage, cut and paste. Each one is great, particularly one by €˜LaLaCatLoverMeow€™ that you see on The Student Room website that even has a PowerPoint. All different colours and words flying around. No. If you start your career like that then where does it end? Your whole resource bank will be made up of work by other people. You€™ll stand in front of classes that respect you, hopefully, only for you to know that your work is plagiarised and false. If anything, people should be stealing your work. You will be a revolutionary teacher and write your own educational theory book that will be read by student teachers in years to come. You stay up for hours writing a series of handouts and creating PowerPoints that slide within an inch of their lives. Then you watch Mr Weary next class as he gives the students €˜LaLaCatLoverMeow€™s€™ handouts and shows her PowerPoint. He hasn€™t even got rid of her name at the top of the screen AND the kids don€™t care. You vow to hunt down €˜LaLaCatLoverMeow€™ and steal every resource she has ever made.
