20 Things All Cardiff University Students Will Understand
10. Chippy Lane
No night out in Cardiff is complete without a trip to Caroline Street, aka Chippy Lane. You want a kebab? Chippy lane. You want a burger? Chippy lane. You want a Big Mac? Go to McDonald's. One of the great things about Chippy Lane is that the only chain shop on the street is a Greggs. All the other businesses are local and family-owned. This becomes surprisingly important at two in the morning, when your zeal for supporting the local economy suddenly peaks, and you want nothing more than a portion of chips with curry sauce. You can also expect a momentary flutter of pride when you watch that one scene from Gavin and Stacey where they mention Caroline Street.
With a (nearly) useless degree in English literature and a personal trainer qualification he's never used, Freddie spends his times writing things that he hopes will somehow pay the rent. He's also a former professional singer, and plays the saxophone and ukulele. He's not really used to talking about himself in the third person, and would like to stop now, thanks.
