2016 Presidential Election: 20 WTF Moments

Jimmy Fallon even found himself roped into the election insanity this year when he brought Trump on his show in September and completely missed a grand opportunity to ask him some incredibly probing questions in a unique environment.

Instead, it was all skits about Trump's appearance and an incredibly soft face-to-face interview, mostly remembered for a concluding moment in which Fallon ruffled Trump's hair, much to the audience's delight.

Fallon did actually respond to criticisms that he should've taken a harder-edged approach, saying, “Have you seen my show? I’m never too hard on anyone.”

He does have a good point, even if he seemed far too chummy with such an adversarial, controversial figure.
