15. The Shattered Dreams Of Baja Reopening

Ignoring the fact that Gateshead isn't exactly a holiday hot spot, someone thought that a beach concept nightclub that played the Baywatch tune 8 or 9 times a night was the perfect match for the area. For a while it worked great; the bar staff were all hired because of how they looked in swimwear, rather than their ability to serve anyone quickly, but that was alright as they were forced to dance on a stage every half-hour or so to make up any short-comings. For a while at the end of 2014 it looked like the club was going to reopen this year, but the dream apparently isn't going to happen.
