11. Feeling Guilty About Marking Prices Up

A sure-fire way to get those numbers back to where they should be is the mark-up. For some it is easy, for others not so much. Knowing that the customer booking a family holiday has three kids and a tight budget, the little voice known as the conscience usually starts to chatter. At the same time you know you will have that familiar €˜your numbers are down€™ talk again, and would like to spend the next month not having to deal with the repercussions. Added to this, you often have to add on commission in the moment. The classic way of course is to punch a load of numbers into a calculator and act like you have not just marked the price up in the process. This takes poise and a knack for arithmetic.
