18. A Few Staff Members Are Bound To Take Advantage

Most bar managers are promoted from bar staff, which means the people under you are your mates and drinking buddies from way back... and there's always going to be at least one who thinks that working on your shift is going to be like the last day of school. They€™ll slack off, ignore customers, take long breaks, maybe sneakily knock one back with a regular while they€™re working. That€™s if they turn up at all: some of these feckless wastes have been known to breezily ask you to cover their shift an hour after they were supposed to start work. Try not to take it to heart. There will be a reckoning. Oh yes. *cartel face*
