The sad truth of the animal kingdom is although animals might be loveable, loyal, and adorable, they are not people. Animals are ruled by instinct, or perhaps in the case of cats, they are ruled by rudeness. Homeowners living alone with their pets have died in the past and have fallen prey to what is called Postmortem Predation. This occurs when your unfed animal stops seeing the lifeless body on the ground as their dearly departed master and begins to see them as a rapidly cooling lunch. But wait, it gets worse. If you own a cat the process happens much faster. In studies conducted by the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, and others in recent years, the results were that cats were far less loyal to the dead than dogs. If you die around your cat it is likely to begin eating you in less than twenty-four hours. It won't start with a hand or foot either. No, the darn thing will begin with the cheeks and eyes. Now go feed that cuddly little feline monster you call a pet.
