25 Greatest Fake Film & TV Products

14. Cheesy Poofs (South Park)

Eric Cartman€™s favourite snack food is another brand that has been appropriated into the real world. Cheese favoured Maize snacks have long existed but a company in America has started marketing Cartman€™s favourite brand so children all across the US can be fat and obnoxious whilst being covered in Orange cheese dust just like Cartman.

13. The Hitchhiker€™s Guide To The Galaxy (The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy)

Given our obsession with technology its a surprise that this is the only tech item on the list, but then i suppose "lightsaber" isn't really a product in the fictional world. The Hitchhiker's Guide is one fictional product that we now more or less already have, be it in the form of our smartphones or tablets, we all carry a large chunk of the world's information in our pocket. Still though we'd like to get our hands on a real one, iPhone's are good an' all but until Siri is voiced by Stephen Fry, the fictional world has us trumped.

12. Bubba Gump Shrimp (Forrest Gump)

Shrimp you'll be surprised to know, do exist in the real world, in fact Bubba Gump Shrimp do now after the first of what would become a chain of theme restaurants opened in California in 1996. unlike some of the fictional products on this list, which have crossed over into reality, Bubba Gump's is officially licensed from Paramount, so menu items like the "Run Across America Sampler" and "Lt. Dan's Drunken Shrimp" (served in a Bourbon Sauce) are there to remind you you're not just eating in a restaurant, you're meta-eating in a restaurant.

11. Dr Flim-Flam's Miracle Cream (Futurama)

Proof positive that excessively priced pressure purchases from pushy salesman types can sometimes yield positive results. Dr Flim-Flam's Miracle Cream is purchased by Dr Zoidberg who uses it to treat Fry and Leela's aching limbs. He should have read the tube's side effects warning as the cream imbues Fry and Leela with super powers turning them into the superheroes Captain Yesterday and Clobberella respectively. To date Dr Flim-Flam's Miracle Cream hasn't made it to market in reality.
