14. Churchill Created Close To 600 Pieces Of Artwork During His Lifetime... And One Of His Works Sold For More Than £600,000 In 2006
In his spare time, Churchill was a keen amateur painter and he produced close to 600 separate artworks during his life in a bid to relax from his stressful day job. One of his works - View of Tinherir, which he completed in 1951 - sold at auction in December 2006 for £612,800, despite his paintings generally being viewed as extremely amateurish.
