At 2013's VGX awards, No Man's Sky arrived out of nowhere and blew the gaming community away. As the years passed, we've been drip-fed more information even if plenty still remains up in the air: the game revolves around the player exploring a near-infinite number of procedurally-generated planets in a persistent universe. Any time you visit a planet, you can leave messages and information for other explorers, essentially allowing you to "plant your flag" even if there won't be interaction with other players. Though there's every possibility that No Man's Sky will end up as another Spore, an ambitious title that just doesn't live up to it promise, consider the more terrifying and exciting alternative, that it actually does. Wait for the reviews before splashing your cash, but our fingers are very much crossed.
